Preparation of silver sulphide (Ag2S) thin films by chemical bath deposition for photocatalytic application

Semiconductor silver sulphide (Ag2S) thin films were grown on the glass substrate by chemical bath deposition (CBD). Five deposited at room temperature in a containing an aqueous solution of sulphide. The chemically synthesized Ag2S are annealed 573K for one hour second sample, and two hours third sample. fourth sample exposed to microwave irradiation hour, fifth Surface morphology, photocatalytic, optical structural properties all samples investigated. parameters such as transmittance, absorbance, absorption coefficient energy bandgap with thermal annealing expose presented. Optical measurement shows high absorbance ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) region. difference values was located be range (1.5-2.05) eV. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements reflect existence polycrystalline, scanning electron microscopy images showed that morphologies have various microspheres. summary is film which exhibits best photocatalytic application.
