Preparation, Characterization of Cd(II) Ion-Imprinted Microsphere and Its Selectivity for Template Ion

Cadmium is one of the many toxic elements for humans even at low concentrations, and it could exist in environment a long time. The ion imprinting technique has gained much attention due to its selective recognition performance. In this study, cadmium imprinted maleic acid-co-acrylonitrile polymeric microsphere (Cd-I-MA-co-AN) was synthesized via precipitation polymerization using Cd(II) as template ion, acrylonitrile acid functional monomers, divinylbenzene cross-linker, potassium persulfate an initiator. UV–vis, SEM FTIR were used characterization, adsorption conditions observed optimized. capacity selectivity Cd-I-MA-co-AN analyzed by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). results documented that optimal pH, flow rate eluent 6, 2 mL min−1 1 mol L−1 nitric acid, respectively. Compared with non-ion (NI-MA-co-AN), had higher capacity. saturated capacities NI-MA-co-AN 20.46 mg g−1 7.64 g−1, behavior fitted Freundlich isotherm model. relative coefficients presence Cu(II), Mn(II), Ni(II) Pb(II) 3.79, 3.39, 3.90 3.31, showed good Cd(II). addition, reusability study can be recycled ten times high recovery natural water samples.
