Pollution flashover on insulators is one of the greatest challenges affecting smooth operation high-voltage transmission lines. Demonstrating super-hydrophobic coatings insulators’ interfaces an effective measure to prevent insulator flashovers. In present investigation, a FAS-17-modified SiO2/PDMS coating composite was demonstrated by spraying. The had contact angle 159.2° and sliding 1.3° with better insulation properties. prepared nano-SiO2 nanoparticles were not easy agglomerate; illustrate this, binding energy calculated density functional theory. mechanism explained in terms adsorption between SiO2 molecules water before after modification. This paper provides new method solve pollution problem explain mechanism.
