Preparation and Properties of Epoxy Composites with Multi-Scale BN Sheets

Epoxy resin is one of the most widely used thermosetting polymers and commonly applied in power electronics field. The intrinsic properties epoxy can be improved by introduction inorganic filler, thus fabricating a composite material. In this paper, different scales modified boron nitride (BN, 1 ?m, 10 ?m) were to improve thermal conductivity resin. surfaces BN modification silane coupling agent compatibility between effects micro-and nano-BN sheets on microstructure, breakdown strength, mechanical studied. characterization its morphology scanning electron microscopy shows that distribution middle micro-BN, forming better bridging effect. data strength indicated when content micro-BN 30 wt% 20 wt%, BN/epoxy was 1.52 W/m·K. addition, 77.1 kV/mm. Thus, type BN-filled BN/EP composites with remarkable insulation would have potential for engineering materials.
