Preparation and characterization of textile-grade long cellulose fibers and their yarns from windmill palm

Windmill palm fiber (WPF) is an abundant source of cellulose that can be used in textile manufacturing. In this study, acid-alkali and acid-alkali-enzyme were prepared to create blended yarns. The morphology, chemical composition, physical structural parameters, tensile properties the WPF samples yarns studied. results indicated both treatments as degumming methods prepare windmill textile-grade long fibers with spinning ability. After treatment, content increased more than 60%, up from 34%. However, line densities decreased 5.29 ± 1.00 tex 4.52 0.82 tex, respectively. For enzyme-treated fiber, a stratification phenomenon cell walls decrease modulus observed. palm/cotton yarn had high strength strip uniformity.
