Preparation and Characterization of fluorinated copolymer emulsion for concrete protection

Abstract Emulsifier-free copolymerizations of 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl 2-methylpropanoate (TFMPA) and methyl acrylate in the presence surface-active commoner, undecylenic acid (UA), were carried out using potassium persulfate (KPS) as initiator. The prepared copolymer emulsions characterized analyzed by FT-IR, 1 H 19 F NMR spectra, TEM, dynamic light scattering (DLS), contact angle testing. results showed that average particle size latex particles was 200-300 nm with a relatively uniform distribution. glass transition temperature controlled monomer feed ratios. After coating on concrete surface, significantly increased, water absorption reduced.
