چکیده

Abstract Surfactants are among the materials used to improve water properties for injection into oil reservoirs, and reduce phase crude interfacial tension (IFT). Recently, interest in use of natural surfactants has increased is constantly on rise solve some challenges using chemical such as incompatibility with environment high cost. In this study, we have aqueous extract powdered leaf Myrtus communis an available source surfactant. The extracted surfactant was characterized by TGA, 1 H NMR FTIR techniques. efficiency demonstrated performing experiments including IFT slug carbonate plugs. adsorption rock also studied. It observed that can 0.861 mN/m at critical micelle concentration (CMC) 5000 ppm. This minimum further reduced optimum salinity alkali. Finally, increase 14.3% recovery flooding 16.4% ASP containing NaOH alkali partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (PHPA) polymer 0.5 PV volume from plugs achieved.

Oil Extraction from Millet Seed – Chemical Evaluation of Extracted Oil

ABSTRACT: The object of this study is to extract the oil from millets and evaluate the chemical properties of the extracted oil. Commercial millet oil was obtained by cold solvent extraction adopting soxhlet procedure. Quantitative and qualitative tests concerned with the non-saponifiable matter, fatty acid composition, phosphorus content representing total phospholipids, refractive index, pero...

Sulfonation of phenols extracted from the pyrolysis oil of oil palm shells for enhanced oil recovery.

The cost of chemicals prohibits many technically feasible enhanced oil recovery methods to be applied in oil fields. It is shown that by-products from oil palm processing can be a source of valuable chemicals. Analysis of the pyrolysis oil from oil palm shells, a by-product of the palm oil industry, reveals a complex mixture of mainly phenolic compounds, carboxylic acids, and aldehydes. The phe...

Hypnotic effect of the essential oil from the leaves of Myrtus communis on mice

BACKGROUND Myrtus communis has been suggested as a sleep aid in unconventional medicine. Moreover, previous studies have also indicated its sedative- and hypnotic-like activity. In this study, the hypnotic effect of M. communis was investigated. METHODS Essential oil (EO) of M. communis (600, 800, and 1,000 mg/kg) was given orally to Swiss albino mice of both sex, and the hypnotic effect was ...

Surface Chemistry of Oil Recovery From Fractured, Oil-Wet, Carbonate Formations

Oil recovery by waterflooding in fractured formations is often dependent on spontaneous imbibition. However, spontaneous imbibition is often insignificant in oil-wet, carbonate rocks. Sodium carbonate and anionic surfactant solutions are evaluated for enhancing oil recovery by spontaneous imbibition from oil-wet carbonate rocks. Crude-oil samples must be free of surface-active contaminants to b...
