چکیده
Background and Objectives: Despite advances in the treatment of heart diseases, outcome patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest remains poor. The aim our study was to determine prehospital variables as predictors survival outcomes out-of-hospital (OHCA) victims. Materials Methods: This a retrospective observational cohort OHCA cases. EMS protocols created accordance with Utstein style reporting for OHCA, first responder intervention reports, medical dispatch center hospital reports were all reviewed. Multivariate logistic regression performed following variables: age, gender, witnessed status, location, bystander CPR, rhythm, etiology. Results: A total 381 interventions resuscitation attempts analyzed. In more than half (55%) them, CPR performed. Thirty percent achieved return spontaneous circulation (ROSC), 22% those 30-day (7% victims), 73% survived Cerebral Performance Score 1 or 2. model adjustment confirms that shockable initial rhythm predictor ROSC [OR: 4.5 (95% CI: 2.5–8.1)] 9.3 2.9–29.2)]. Age also associated (≤67 years) 3.9 1.3–11.9)] better survival. Conclusions: Elderly have lower rate. occurrence alarmingly low. Shockable is rate neurological compared non-shockable rhythm.

Predictors of Survival From Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest
Background—Prior studies have identified key predictors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), but differences exist in the magnitude of these findings. In this meta-analysis, we evaluated the strength of associations between OHCA and key factors (event witnessed by a bystander or emergency medical services [EMS], provision of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR], initial cardiac rh...

متن کاملAssociation of prehospital advanced airway management with neurologic outcome and survival in patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
IMPORTANCE It is unclear whether advanced airway management such as endotracheal intubation or use of supraglottic airway devices in the prehospital setting improves outcomes following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) compared with conventional bag-valve-mask ventilation. OBJECTIVE To test the hypothesis that prehospital advanced airway management is associated with favorable outcome aft...
متن کاملAssessing the impact of prehospital intubation on survival in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
UNLABELLED There is a developing body of literature documenting adverse survival outcome of out-of-hospital endotracheal intubation for critical multiple trauma and head injury patients. OBJECTIVE To compare the rates of survival to hospital admission and discharge of nontraumatic out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients who received successful out-of-hospital endotracheal intubation an...
متن کاملEffects of prehospital epinephrine administration on neurological outcomes in patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
BACKGROUND To determine if the effects of epinephrine administration on the outcome of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), patients are associated with the duration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed by Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel. METHODS This retrospective, nonrandomized, observational analysis used the All-Japan Utstein Registry, a prospective, nationwide pop...
