چکیده
Aim
Preeclampsia may cause both maternal and neonatal complications. Uteroplacental dysfunction is one of the reasons fetal complications in preeclampsia. Recent findings about etiology pathogenesis disease shows that inflammation factors responsible for complications, thus should be associated with same inflammatory process. We considered evaluating mean platelet volume (MPV) infants born to mothers preeclampsia, based on elevated MPV values pregnant women
 Materials methods
This study was carried out at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Hacettepe University Ihsan Dogramacı Children’s Hospital consisted 148 preeclampsia 147 as a control group which were selected by stratified sampling system. Hematological parameters (mean volume, hemoglobin values, white blood cell counts) common morbidities (small gestational age, respiratory distress syndrome, necrotizing enterocolitis, intraventricular hemorrhage patent ductus arteriosus) evaluated between groups. Evaluation of mean platelet volume and its ratio over platelet count in children with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome Tıkayıcı uyku apne sendromu olan çocuklarda ortalama trombosit hacmi ve ortalama trombosit hacminin trombosit sayısına oranının değerlendirilmesi
Objectives: This study aims to determine the association between obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) caused by adenotonsillar hypertrophy and mean platelet volume (MPV) and MPV/platelet count ratio in children, and to evaluate the impact of adenotonsillectomy on these two parameters. Patients and Methods: This prospective study consisted of 73 child patients (38 boys, 35 girls; mean age 8.6...

متن کاملMean Platelet Volume (MPV) in Thrombocytopenia
Background: The platelet volume parameters have been widely available as part of full blood count profile on automated haematology analyzers. However, the mean platelet volume (MPV) and other platelet indices are used less often and are poorly understood. Platelet volume data is generated at no extra cost as part of full blood count profile. Low platelet counts can have myriad cause which can b...
