چکیده
Abstract Background Cardiac shear wave elastography (SWE) is a novel ultrasound-based method that assesses the propagation speed of waves travelling in myocardium induced by e.g. mitral valve closure (MVC). The these related to stiffness myocardium. capability SWE evaluate myocardial has already been demonstrated several publications. However, which factors beside intrinsic mechanical properties influence vivo not extensively investigated. Purpose aim this study was investigate clinical parameters as well echocardiographic indicators tissue and left ventricular (LV) filling pressures on after MVC. Methods 219 subjects (59±17 years; 140 males) were included study. Of those, 49 healthy volunteers, 25 patients with cardiac amyloidosis, 42 hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, 35 hypertensive heart disease 68 coronary artery disease. Subjects scanned an experimental ultrasound scanner using diverging imaging acquire images at high temporal resolution (average frame rate: 1167±414 Hz). Shear MVC visualized M-mode maps along interventricular septum colour coded for acceleration (Figure 1). calculated semi-automatically measuring spatiotemporal slope wave. Univariate multivariate linear regression analysis performed identify variables associated speed. Results revealed association following speed: age, BMI, systolic blood pressure, E wave, average e', E/e', atrial volume index (LAVI), grade diastolic dysfunction, isovolumic relaxation time, septal wall thickness, LV mass presence cardiomyopathy. These added model. Predictors LAVI, cardiomyopathy (R2=0.53) (Table Conclusions results indicate both structural (reflected predictors cardiomyopathy) e' LAVI) affect findings suggest potential assess functional changes LV, should be further explored. Measuring shear-wave speed with point shear-wave elastography and MR elastography: a phantom study
OBJECTIVES To compare shear-wave speed (SWS) measured by ultrasound-based point shear-wave elastography (pSWE) and MR elastography (MRE) on phantoms with a known shear modulus, and to assess method validity and variability. METHODS 5 homogeneous phantoms of different stiffnesses were made. Shear modulus was measured by a rheometer, and this value was used as the standard. 10 SWS measurements ...
متن کاملShear-wave elastography for breast masses: local shear wave speed (m/sec) versus Young modulus (kPa)
PURPOSE To evaluate and compare the performance of shear-wave elastography (SWE) for breast masses using the local shear wave speed (m/sec) vs. Young modulus (kPa). METHODS A total of 130 breast lesions in 123 women who underwent SWE before ultrasound- guided core needle biopsy or surgical excision were included. With the region-of-interest placed over the stiffest areas of the lesion on SWE,...
متن کاملObservation of nonlinear shear wave propagation using magnetic resonance elastography.
MR elastography (MRE) is an MRI modality that is increasingly being used to image tissue elasticity throughout the body. One MRE technique that has received a great deal of attention is based on visualizing shear waves, which reveal stiffness by virtue of their local wavelength. However, the shape of propagating shear waves can also provide valuable information about the nonlinear stress-strain...
متن کاملThree dimensional shear wave scattering MR elastography
Introduction: Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is a non invasive method that combines externally applied vibrations with the motion sensitivity of MRI to measure the shear elasticity soft tissues [1]. In MRE this is traditionally achieved by solving an inverse problem with MRE shear wave images as input data [2]. A complementary approach, which does not require the solution of an inverse p...
