Predictive Controller Design for a Three-Winding Inductive Power Transfer System

Inductive power transfer (IPT) systems have become more and popular recently. To improve transient responses load disturbance responses, this paper proposes a predictive controller design for three-winding inductive system. First, IPT is presented. Next, designed based on augmented variables performance index. Finally, digital signal processor, TMS 320F2808, made by Texas Instrument, used to execute the control algorithms switching states of devices. An system, with DC 220 V input, 130 output, rated 2 kW, implemented. A buck converter provide an adjustable output voltage current charge battery set. Experimental results show that proposed controllers system better than proportional-integral (PI) controllers, including faster responses.
