چکیده
The objective of this study is to predict the percentage dilution in AISI 1020 low carbon steel welds produced from tungsten inert gas welding using Artificial Neural Networking (ANN) approach. regression plot showed R = 0.9992 as progress training, 0.99865 validation and 0.85285 training test. This led overall correlation coefficient (R) 0.90007 which signified that ANN a robust tool for predicting weld dilution. To test reliability trained network, model was employed its own value same input parameters generated central composite design. Based on observed predicted values dilution, outputs thereafter generated, r2 0.9876 obtained conclusion network can be used beyond limit experimentation. There proximity results obtained, both experimental fell between 44.5-71.55%. Hence, prediction adopted applied actual scenario without fear inacuracies.

Structure-property Interaction in Flux Assisted Tungsten Inert Gas Welding of Austenitic Stainless Steel
Austenitic stainless steel SS304 grade was welded with active Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding process by applying a flux paste made of SiO2 powder and acetone. SiO2 flux application improves the weld bead depth with a simultaneous reduction in weld bead width. The improvement in penetration results from arc constriction and reversal of Marangoni convection. Experimental studies revealed that t...
متن کاملWelding of 304L Stainless Steel with Activated Tungsten Inert Gas Process (A-TIG)
Gas tungsten arc welding is a popular process in those applications requiring a high degree of quality and accuracy. However, this process has a big disadvantage against the substantially high productivity welding procedures. Hence, many efforts have been made to improve its productivity. One of these efforts is the use of activating flux (A-TIG welding). In this study, the performance of A-TIG...
متن کاملOptimization of Weld Bead Width in Tungsten Inert Gas Welding of Austenitic Stainless Steel Alloy
This paper investigates the effects of process parameters on weld bead width of austenitic stainless steel SS-310 in tungsten inert gas welding. The four parameters namely welding current, type of gas, gas flow rate and included angle of weld plates during butt joint were varied at three levels. The DOE approach was used to design experimental conditions. Orthogonal array L9 was used for carryi...

The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference between tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding of austenitic stainless steel assisted by microparticle oxides and that assisted by nanoparticle oxides. SiO₂ and Al₂O₃ were used to investigate the effects of the thermal stability and the particle size of the activated compounds on the surface appearance, geometric shape, angular distortion, d...
متن کاملA Review on Optimization of Mechanical Properties for Aisi 1020 on Mig Welding
Welding is a manufacturing process, which is carried out for joining of metals by Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. This is the one types of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), in which Argon and Helium is used as a inert gas. Shielding gas Argon and Helium is used and consumable electrode is used which also plays role of conductor. MIG welding is versatile, gives very little loss of alloying elements a...
