Predicting Type II Diabetes Mellitus among Iraqi Adults at Al Anbar Province Using a Finnish Diabetes Risk Score

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is considered as one of the major health problems worldwide. Thus, a simple risk-assessment scoring system for early screening type 2 diabetes (T2DM) among Iraqi adults will be beneficial to identify high-risk and thus taking adequate preventive measures in fighting mellitus.Aims study: The aim this study was evaluate ability FINDRISC predict progression an population without diabetes.Methodology: A descriptive quantitative design conducted on adult people. It implemented order achieve objectives present study, which started from 15 February, 2022 through April, 2022. instruments have been constructed review available literature, questionnaire composed two parts: Part I: Sociodemographic information; II: Finnish Risk Score Predict Type Mellitus.Results: In total, 100 people were included study. result shows that vast majority sample are within third category age groups (Mean ± SD 39.2 10.7 yrs.) accounted (61.0%). group slightly elevated risk developing II Mellitus ten years they (40.0%) whole sample. results illustrate there high significant relationship between score (C.C.= .000). table also non-significant gender, marital status, occupation residency .788, .111, .083, .791) retrospectively. Also, level education .314).
