Predicting steel mechanical properties using computer modeling in Deform 3D

This article presents the results of heat-treated low-alloy steel microstructure research using Deform 3D program, which allows determining optimal technological parameters hardening. The object is pipe grade 12CrMoV. To determine and evaluate heat treatment affecting increase in mechanical properties, modeling specified program were used. compare results, we used method for properties during tensile testing (GOST 1497-84). In order to obtaining pipes a high strength group, mode thermal cyclic hardening was simulated, followed by low-temperature tempering, at level of: – not less than 931 MPa, yield range 862–1034 elongation 9.0 %. values selected according recommendations: heating temperature 860 ºС; tempering 150 ºС. process confirmed tests, as result obtained: 1093 point 937 MPa relative 11.4 %, corresponding property Q125 group.
