چکیده

This study uses the Eulerian-Lagrangian multiphase particle-in-cell (MP-PIC) approach, adopted in computational particle fluid dynamics (CPFD) code, Barracuda VR®, to simulate a cold-flow dual-circulating fluidized bed. The hydrodynamics is simulated using novel segregated which experimental solids circulation rate specified as an input parameter. CPFD predictions of pressures and concentration distributions are compared with results for varying bed material 76–153 kg/m2s superficial gas velocity reactor riser from 3.3 m/s 6.4 m/s. Overall trends these quantities well captured by model. Detailed sensitivity studies carried out riser-only approach fixed mass inventory. Apart drag model selection, pressure constant Ps exponent ? MP-PIC stress found have greatest influence on fluidization behavior predicted flux.

Gas-Liquid-Solid Fluidized Bed Simulation by Computational Fluid Dynamics

Gas-liquid-solid fluidized bed technique has emerged recently as one of the most promising one for three phase operations involved in chemical, biochemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical processing industries. Out of the fundamental characteristics of a three-phase fluidized bed, the gas hold up and liquid hold up behaviours have been studied extensively. Considering the various researchers’ fi...

Gas-Solid Turbulent Flow in a Circulating Fluidized Bed Riser: Numerical Study of Binary Particle Systems

Numerical simulations were performed of a turbulent gas-particle multiphase flow in a circulating fluidized bed riser using a hard-sphere discrete particle model (DPM) for the particle phase and the Navier-Stokes equations for the gas phase, where the subgrid scale stresses (SGS) were modeled with the SGS model proposed by Vreman. The model enables the simulation of systems with an arbitrary pa...

Gas-solid Turbulent Flow in a Circulating Fluidized Bed Riser; Numerical Study of Binary Particle Mixtures

A numerical simulation was performed on a turbulent gas-particle multi-phase flow in a circulating fluidized bed riser based on a hard-sphere discrete particle model (DPM) for the particle phase and the Navier-Stokes equations for the gas phase. The sub-grid scale stresses (SGS) were modeled with the SGS model proposed by Vreman (2004). The model enables the calculation of an arbitrary particle...

Computational fluid dynamics simulation of the flow patterns and performance of conventional and dual-cone gas-particle cyclones

One of the main concerns of researchers is the separation of suspended particles in a fluid. Accordingly, the current study numerically investigated the effects of a conical section on the flow pattern of a Stairmand cyclone by simulating single-cone and dual-cone cyclones. A turbulence model was used to analyze incompressible gas-particle flow in the cyclone models, and the Eulerian–Lagrangian...

Cold Model Experimental Research on Particle Velocity Distribution in Gas-Solid Circulating Fluidized Bed for Methanol-to-Olefins Process

Radial profiles of particle velocities were investigated in a 6.1m high methanol-to-olefins cold model experimental device using a TSI laser Doppler velocimeter. The effect of axial height on flow development was not obvious in fully developed region under the same operating condition. Superficial gas velocity and solid circulating rate had significant influence on particle velocity in the cent...
