Pre-Load Effect on CFRP-Confinement of Concrete Columns: Experimental and Theoretical Study

چکیده

The axial compression strength of concrete columns has been proved to be significantly enhanced by external confinement. In this perspective, the use Fiber-Reinforced Polymers (FRPs) extensively studied. practical applications, FRP-confinement is installed on loaded columns, which can already deformed, while theoretical models neglect aspect. This paper concerns a new experimental investigation possibility that pre-existing load affects concrete. research program also aimed at development analysis-oriented-model for prediction compressive FRP-jacketed depending level load, acting before For purpose, series small-scale cylinders were first loaded, then confined with Carbon FRP, and finally subjected destructive pure tests. Four different levels loads simulated, including un-loaded condition.
