ABSTRACT: This study assessed the ways thermal environment is influenced by pre-cooling water employed in wetting porous plates present evaporative cooling systems (ECS). The experiment was performed using two physical models constructed on a distorted and reduced scale, which simulated closed agricultural facilities equipped with ECS made up of cellulose panels. In one model, were wet chilled (ECScw), while other they moistened natural water, at temperature (ECSnw). Both inside outside, external environment, air dry-bulb (tdb), black globe (tbg) relative humidity (RH) measured, 10 sec intervals. Later, environmental indices, ECSnw effectiveness ECScw performance factor assessed. When thoroughly pre-cooled lowering variables comfort indices seen to be greater than when done room temperature.
