Practical guide for debris flow and hillslope debris flow protection nets and its application in case studies
نویسندگان
چکیده
Debris flows and hillslope debris endanger people infrastructures. Technical protection measures are important elements in addition to spatial planning (adapted use of space like hazard maps) organizational (warning systems, emergency plan, evacuation). Additional other rigid flexible flow nets were developed 2008, 2010 respectively. Such barriers consist an interception surface netting spanned between horizontal support ropes including energy devices posts for large span width. Since then, they available on the market worldwide. Many projects successfully installed already filled by events. After more than ten years experience demonstrating that these work against flow, fully accepted as possible integral flow. To provide planners engineers know-how nets, a practical guide was initiated Swiss Federal Roads Office (FEDRO) Environment (FOEN). Two case studies with planned one presented.

Assessing Debris Flow Hazard by Credal Nets
Debris flows are among the most dangerous and destructive natural hazards that affect human life, buildings, and infrastructures. Starting from the ’70s, significant scientific and engineering advances in the understanding of the processes have been achieved [4, 7]. Yet, human expertise is still fundamental for hazard identification, as many aspects of the whole process are poorly understood; a...
متن کامل[Research progress in post-fire debris flow].
The occurrence of the secondary disasters of forest fire has significant impacts on the environment quality and human health and safety. Post-fire debris flow is one of the most hazardous secondary disasters of forest fire. To understand the occurrence conditions of post-fire debris flow and to master its occurrence situation are the critical elements in post-fire hazard assessment. From the vi...

We propose a new data analyzing scheme, the method of minimum entropy analysis (MEA), in this paper. New MEA provides a quantitative criterion to select relevant variables for modeling the physical system interested. Such method can be easily extended to various geophysical/geological data analysis, where many relevant or irrelevant available measurements may obscure the understanding of the hi...
متن کاملSystems and Sensors for Debris-flow Monitoring and Warning
Debris flows are a type of mass movement that occurs in mountain torrents. They consist of a high concentration of solid material in water that flows as a wave with a steep front. Debris flows can be considered a phenomenon intermediate between landslides and water floods. They are amongst the most hazardous natural processes in mountainous regions and may occur under different climatic conditi...
متن کاملInfluence of rheology on debris-flow simulation
Systems of partial differential equations that include the momentum and the mass conservation equations are commonly used for the simulation of debris flow initiation, propagation and deposition both in field and in laboratory research. The numerical solution of the partial differential equations can be very complicated and consequently many approximations that neglect some of their terms have ...
