PP70 Enhancing HTA Processes In The Maltese System For Introducing New Medicines

Introduction Most European countries use Health Technology Assessment (HTA) as input for decisions on reimbursement of (new) medicines. In 2018, following the approval Social Funding, Directorate Pharmaceutical Affairs (DPA) within Malta Ministry led a specific Work Package aimed at enhancing knowledge, skills and HTA processes to inform decisions. Methods Since start project, Institute Medical (iMTA) National Care Netherlands (ZIN) collaborate in providing guidance training DPA relative effectiveness assessments (REAs) pharmacoeconomic (PEAs) pharmaceuticals. Several activities were organized: site visits, face-to face interviews with stakeholders, qualitative assessment core process Maltese system, health economics tutorials, meetings introducing Network (EUnetHTA) Dutch processes, development new framework assessment, shadow assessment.
