چکیده
The High-Luminosity project (HL-LHC) of the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), requires low $\beta$ * quadrupole magnets in Nb notation="LaTeX">$_\text{3}$ Sn technology that will be installed on each side ATLAS and CMS experiments. After a successful short-model magnet manufacture test campaign, has advanced with production, assembly, full-size 7.15-m-long magnets. In last two years, CERN-built prototypes (MQXFBP1 MQXFBP2) have been tested magnetically measured at SM18 facility. These are longest accelerator based built to date. this paper, we present analysis results these magnets, emphasis quenches training, voltage-current measurements quench localization voltage taps new antenna.

Measurement of Eddy Current Transients in Fast-cycled Linac Quadrupole Magnets at Cern
− The paper deals with a fast measurement technique of electromagnetic transients due to eddy currents in fast-cycled magnets for linear particle accelerators. First the context of the problem, related to the need for accurate control of the magnetic field quality in order to ensure the stability and performance of the particle beam in dynamic conditions (field ramps up to about 700 T/s) is out...
متن کاملThe CMS experiment at the CERN LHC
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector is described. The detector operates at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. It was conceived to study proton-proton (and leadlead) collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV (5.5 TeV nucleon-nucleon) and at luminosities up to 1034 cm−2s−1 (1027 cm−2s−1). At the core of the CMS detector sits a high-magneticfield and large-bore superconducting sol...
متن کاملNeutralino decays at the CERN LHC
We study the distribution of lepton pairs from the second lightest neutralino decay χ̃2 → χ̃1ll. This decay mode is important to measure the mass difference between χ̃2 and the lightest neutralino χ̃ 0 1, which helps to determine the parameters of the minimal supersymmetric standard model at the CERN LHC. We found that the decay distribution strongly depends on the values of underlying MSSM paramet...
متن کاملBosonic quartic couplings at CERN LHC
We analyze the potential of the CERN Large Hadron Collider to study anomalous quartic vector-boson interactions ZZgg , ZZZg , WWgg , and WWZg through the weak boson fusion processes qq →qqgg and qq→qqgZ(→,1,2) with ,5e or m . After a careful study of the backgrounds and how to extract them from the data, we show that the process pp→ j jg,, is potentially the most sensitive to deviations from th...
متن کاملFiber Optic Cryogenic Sensors for Superconducting Magnets and Superconducting Power Transmission lines at CERN
The design, fabrication and tests of a new generation of superconducting magnets for the upgrade of the LHC require the support of an adequate, robust and reliable sensing technology. The use of Fiber Optic Sensors is becoming particularly challenging for applications in extreme harsh environments such as ultra-low temperatures, high electromagnetic fields and strong mechanical stresses offerin...
