Power Output of Two Semiconductor Lasers: An Observational Study

The objective of this study was to evaluate the power output two dental devices. examined semiconductor lasers, namely, SIROLaser Blue (445 nm, 970 nm) and Picasso (810 nm). performance studied at maximum compared preset measured by a meter in continuous-wave mode pulsed 50% duty cycles. Ten 60 s measurements were performed for each setting. largest difference between stipulated actual (D-cw) (D-p) modes calculated. Moreover, percentage variations mean (%D-cw) (%D-p) D-cw values 445 810 nm lasers 0.7 W, 0.5 −0.3 respectively, %D-cw 21%, 23%, −8%, respectively. D-p 1.1 −0.1 whereas %D-p 37%, 26%, −3%, This found that is not necessarily lower but can be higher than displayed output. Clinicians are recommended calibrate laser using before use.
