Colistin resistant Escherichia coli carrying mcr-1 in urban sludge samples: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Of 48 bacteria belonging to the family Enterobacteriaceae tested from urban sludge samples, one Escherichia coli isolate was resistant to colistin and possessed the resistance marker gene mcr-1 found for the first time from Bangladesh. The colistin resistant E. coli was multidrug resistant showing resistance to 11 different antibiotics tested.
متن کاملZoonotic Transmission of mcr-1 Colistin Resistance Gene from Small-Scale Poultry Farms, Vietnam
We investigated the consequences of colistin use in backyard chicken farms in Vietnam by examining the prevalence of mcr-1 in fecal samples from chickens and humans. Detection of mcr-1-carrying bacteria in chicken samples was associated with colistin use and detection in human samples with exposure to mcr-1-positive chickens.

متن کاملDraft Genome Sequences of Colistin-Resistant MCR-1-Producing Escherichia coli ST1850 and ST74 Strains Isolated from Commercial Chicken Meat
We present here the draft genome sequences of two colistin-resistant mcr-1-carrying Escherichia coli strains belonging to sequence type 74 (ST74) and ST1850, isolated from commercial chicken meat in Brazil. Assembly of this draft genome resulted in 5,022,083 and 4,950,681 bp, respectively, revealing the presence of the IncX4 plasmid-mediated mcr-1 gene responsible for resistance to colistin.
