چکیده
This study investigates the potential suppression effects of aqueous extracts derived from selected plants on growth carrot weed (Parthenium hysterophorus L.) in Arusha, Tanzania. The research aimed to explore natural and sustainable methods for managing proliferation this invasive species. Through a series laboratory experiments, were prepared specific namely amaranth (Amaranthus spinous L.), neem (Azadiratchta indica wheat millet (Sorghum bicolor), marigold flower (Tagetes erictus L.). tested against pot experiment their effectiveness inhibiting germination seeds under controlled conditions. Leaf at 25, 50, 100% concentrations sprayed four eight-week seedlings P. hysterophorus. Distilled water was used as control. highest percentages 95.5% 93.33% control treatment T. extract leaf respectively. Results showed that all plant indicated high inhibition rate Due increasing concentrations, 25 100%. However, concentration more effective used. Four weeks susceptible foliar sprays compared with eight seedlings. These findings highlight using locally available develop eco-friendly strategies infestations region. Further is warranted identify isolate active compounds responsible observed effects. contributes knowledge management practices underscores importance exploring nature-based solutions agricultural challenges Tanzania beyond.

متن کاملThe Combined Effect of Biological Control with Plant Competition on the Management of Parthenium Weed (parthenium Hysterophorus L.)
Parthenium hysterophorus L., (Asteraceae) commonly known as parthenium weed, is a highly invasive plant that has become a problematic weed of pasture lands in Australia and many other countries around the world. For the management of this weed, an integrated approach comprising biological control and plant competition strategies was tested in southern central Queensland. Two competitive pasture...

Parthenium density and species richness were found to be more in non-invaded (N-I) sites as compared to invaded (I) sites of Jaunpur district. pH, OC and %N of the soil indicates that the plant survive naturally at higher level of salinity. In pot experiment, plant growth, proline content, TSS content, chlorophyll, N, P and K was not significantly affected up to 1% NaCl (w/w) over the control a...
