چکیده

This study's focus was to develop a potential pathway for recycling of the paper mill sludge compost (PMSC) in brick making. Composting reduces (PMS) moisture content considerably and shredding becomes easier. The addition PMSC leads an increase porosities bricks makes them lighter, besides delivering energy firing process from burning organics. Lighter construction materials help minimize outlay by reducing labour transportation costs lesser expense on foundation construction. variability experimental data properties were investigated two types soils, typical industry India (alluvial laterite soil), blended with five mix ratios (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% 20%). samples oven-dried fired at different temperatures (850 900 °C) electrically operated muffle furnace representing conditions kiln. Various analyzed which included linear shrinkage, bulk density, water absorption compressive strength. Conclusions drawn based these properties. It found that alluvial soil up 10% weight yield mechanical compliant relevant Indian ASTM codes. Toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) tests showed incorporated are safe use regular applications as non-load-bearing infill walls. study is timely light European Green Deal putting circular economy. Besides, it fulfills objective UN sustainable development goals (SDG).

Paper Mill Sludge and Compost Effects on Disease Incidences in a Vegtable Rotation

Organic matter inputs, including plant residues, manure, and composted organic wastes, have been shown to significantly reduce the severity of a wide variety of root diseases, including those caused by Pythium spp., in natural systems (Perrin, 1986) and field systems (Lewis et al, 1992). Compost amendments have also been shown to reduce the incidence of bacterial spot in field tomato (Miller et...

Activated Sludge Treatment of Paper Mill Effluents

Introduction The pulp and paper industry is the second largest industrial water consumer in Europe with a usage of 35 m3/ton paper and a production of 85.2 M tons/year. Its effluents cause considerable damage to the receiving waters if discharged untreated since they have a high biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and contain chlorinated compounds, suspended solids (ma...
