چکیده

Bovine mastitis is the most common and costly disease affecting dairy cattle throughout world. Enterococcus faecalis one of environmental origin mastitis-causing pathogens. The treatment bovine primarily based on antibiotics. Due to negative impact developing antibiotic resistance adverse effects soil water environments, trend toward use nonantibiotic treatments increasing. Phages may represent a promising alternative strategy. However, it unknown whether phages have therapeutic E. faecalis-induced mastitis. Thus, objective this study was investigate degree protection conferred by phage during murine caused multidrug-resistant faecalis. isolated from milk cows with mastitis, using isolates as hosts. bactericidal ability against prevent biofilm formation were determined in vitro. potential evaluated vivo. An Overview on Probiotics as an Alternative Strategy for Prevention and Treatment of Human Diseases

Aims: Probiotics are viable and useful microorganisms, which are beneficial factors for human and animal health by altering their microbial flora. Most of the probiotics belong to a large group of bacteria in the human gastrointestinal tract. There are several clinical shreds of evidence that show anti-carcinogenic effects of probiotics through altering digestive enzymes, inhibition of carcinog...

The Bacteriophage EF-P29 Efficiently Protects against Lethal Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus faecalis and Alleviates Gut Microbiota Imbalance in a Murine Bacteremia Model

Enterococcus faecalis is becoming an increasingly important opportunistic pathogen worldwide, especially because it can cause life-threatening nosocomial infections. Treating E. faecalis infections has become increasingly difficult because of the prevalence of multidrug-resistant E. faecalis strains. Because bacteriophages show specificity for their bacterial hosts, there has been a growth in i...

Intrathecal/Intraventricular Linezolid in Multidrug-Resistant Enterococcus faecalis Ventriculitis

Background The use of intrathecal antibiotic therapy for the treatment of ventriculitis and/or meningitis has demonstrated efficacy especially when sterilization of the cerebrospinal fluid is not possible with intravenous antibiotics alone. Case Description We describe the successful treatment of Enterococcus faecalis ventriculitis utilizing intrathecal linezolid in a 32-year-old female patient...

Bacteriophage: Time to Re-Evaluate the Potential of Phage Therapy as a Promising Agent to Control Multidrug-Resistant Bacteria

Nowadays the most difficult problem in treatment of bacterial infections is the appearance of resistant bacteria to the antimicrobial agents so that the attention is being drawn to other potential targets. In view of the positive findings of phage therapy, many advantages have been mentioned which utilizes phage therapy over chemotherapy and it seems to be a promising agent to replace the antib...
