چکیده
Multiple Myeloma (MM), a bone marrow plasma cell hematopoietic cancer, remains critical but incurable hematological malignancy, prone to deadly relapses even after existing treatment. In this review, I describe the origins of pro-tumor myeloma-associated macrophages. specifically outline how classically activated anti-tumor macrophages that home cancerous tumor microenvironment is polarized into We then explain these play an important role in supporting multiple myeloma by enabling drug resistance, improved growth, angiogenesis, and protection. also several treatments development aimed sever supportive link between MM blocking signaling pathways, destroying, or repolarizing preventing macrophage polarization first place. conclude careful study needed improve reliability targeting reduce relapse comprehensively treat cancer.

p53 Abnormalities and Potential Therapeutic Targeting in Multiple Myeloma
p53 abnormalities are regarded as an independent prognostic marker in multiple myeloma. Patients harbouring this genetic anomaly are commonly resistant to standard therapy. Thus, various p53 reactivating agents have been developed in order to restore its tumour suppressive abilities. Small molecular compounds, especially, have gained popularity in its efficacy against myeloma cells. For instanc...
متن کاملThe therapeutic potential of cell cycle targeting in multiple myeloma
Proper cell cycle progression through the interphase and mitosis is regulated by coordinated activation of important cell cycle proteins (including cyclin-dependent kinases and mitotic kinases) and several checkpoint pathways. Aberrant activity of these cell cycle proteins and checkpoint pathways results in deregulation of cell cycle progression, which is one of the key hallmarks of cancer. Con...
متن کاملTherapeutic potential of intravenously administered human mesenchymal stromal cells.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) represent a stem and progenitor cell population that has been shown to promote tissue recovery in pre-clinical and clinical studies. The study of MSC migration following systemic infusion of exogenous MSC is difficult. The challenges facing these efforts are due to a number of factors, including defining culture conditions for MSC, the phenotype of cultured MSC, the...
متن کاملBM mesenchymal stromal cell-derived exosomes facilitate multiple myeloma progression.
BM mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSCs) support multiple myeloma (MM) cell growth, but little is known about the putative mechanisms by which the BM microenvironment plays an oncogenic role in this disease. Cell-cell communication is mediated by exosomes. In this study, we showed that MM BM-MSCs release exosomes that are transferred to MM cells, thereby resulting in modulation of tumor growth in...
متن کاملNovel therapeutic strategies targeting tumor-stromal interactions in pancreatic cancer
Therapy-resistance and postoperative recurrence are causes of the poor prognosis in pancreatic cancer. Conventional therapies have a limited impact on the control of pancreatic cancer, resulting in the rapid re-growth of the tumor. The indispensable role of tumor-stromal interaction, which acts as a defender of cancer cells and enhances malignant potential, is being uncovered now. For example, ...
