چکیده

This paper focusses on obtaining a better understanding of the subsurface geology Chibougamau area, in northeast Abitibi greenstone belt (Superior craton), using geophysical data collected along 128 km long traverse with rough southwest–northeast orientation. We have constructed two-dimensional (2D) models study area that are consistent newly gravity and high-resolution magnetic sets. The initial were constrained at depth by an interpretation new seismic section surface bedrock known geometry lithological units. attributes model petrophysical measurements so final is compatible all available geological data. potential-field modelling resolved plutons bodies transparent sections. structural geology, such as open folding, provides improvement estimating size, shape, Barlow plutons. pluton to be associated Cu–Au magmatic-hydrothermal mineralisation and, volume intrusive paramount exploration mineralisation, presented here scientific foundation focused mineralisation.

Geophysical inversion using petrophysical constraints

Petrophysical information is sometimes available from well logs, laboratory measurements, etc. It has been shown that incorporation of such information into geophysical inversions can greatly improve the recovered models. However, when the known petrophysical information is not applicable throughout the entire region, the application of petrophysical constraints to geophysical inversions could ...

Investigating the geological potential of the Birjand area for establishing and extending flood farms (Bandsar)

Khorasan Province is one of the areas in which it is not possible to cultivate farmlands because of low rainfall, and hence, flood farms (bandsar in local dialect) are considered an effective traditional method for flood cultivation in the region. We used a geological map of Birjand at a scale of 1: 250,000 to select the study area. This area includes the city of Birjand and numerous population...

A Case Study of a Fine Scale Integrated Geological, Geophysical, Petrophysical, and Reservoir Simulation Reservoir Characterization With Uncertainty Estimation

A novel method for the integration of multi-scale rock and fluid information was performed on a single well deep-water exploration discovery. The method integrates diverse data types through physically constrained models into a single earth model. Development scenarios were optimized through multiple flow simulations. The development scenarios were designed to investigate the range of uncertain...
