Potential apply of hydrogel-carried chlorhexidine and metronidazole in root canal disinfection

Microorganisms may persist in the root canal system after therapy (RCT). The purpose of this study was to explore metronidazole (MTR)- and chlorhexidine (CHX)-loaded hydrogels as potential application intracanal medicaments for disinfection. Ultraviolet cross-linked (gGels) were synthesized by GelMA solution photoinitiator, which loaded with MTR (MTR@gGels) CHX (CHX@gGels). gGels, MTR@gGels CHX@gGels characterized scanning electron microscopy. antimicrobial activity against E. faecalis, S. mutans P. intermedia assessed.
