Prediction of Late Postoperative Hemorrhage after Whipple Procedure Using Computed Tomography Performed During Early Postoperative Period
Objective Postpancreatectomy hemorrhage (PPH) is an uncommon but serious complication of Whipple surgery. To evaluate the radiologic features associated with late PPH at the first postoperative follow up CT, before bleeding. Materials and Methods To evaluate the radiological features associated with late PPH at the first follow-up CT, two radiologists retrospectively reviewed the initial post...
متن کاملImpact of subcutaneous infiltration of 0.5% bupivacaine on postoperative C-reactive protein serum titer after craniotomy surgery
Background: Tissue injuries may provoke neuro-hormonal response which in turn may lead to release of inflammatory cytokines. We hypothesize that block of afferent sensory pathways by infiltration of 0.5% bupivacaine in the scalp may decrease neuro-hormonal response in the neurosurgical patient. Methods: After obtaining informed consent, forty ASA physical statuses I, II, or III patients betwee...
متن کاملIntra and Postoperative Morbidity Associated with Myomectomy
Results: One hundred thirty-seven procedures were reviewed. The median operating time was 1 hour and 40 minutes. The size of fibroid had a significant effect on the type of abdominal incision. Median estimated blood loss during the procedure was 500 ml with 23% of patients losing ≥ 1 liter. There was a significant positive relation between the size of fibroid and estimated blood loss, but this ...
متن کاملC-REACTIVE PROTEIN RESPONSE IN ANGINA PECTORIS
C-reactive protein (CRP) response was studied in 44 patients with acute angina pectoris admitted to the coronary care unit. 71 % of patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI)had positive CRP test while 73% of patients presumed to have unstable angina pectoris had negative CRP test. This test can be helpful in differentiating between acute MI and unstable angina pectoris.
متن کاملInvestigating relationship between C- reactive protein and obesity in adults
Introduction: Association between plasma high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations and cardiovascular disease has been Investigated. C-reactive protein (CRP) is an acute phase reactant which is a marker of inflammation in the body. CRP is made by the liver in response to inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα). Adipose ti...
