Postmenopausal Status Exacerbates Stress-Related Neurological Disorders in Rats
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aims: This study was aimed at assessing the effects of social instability stress (SIS) and immobilization (IS) in postmenopausal (PM) conditions. Postmenopause is a physiological state often associated with mild neuronal disorders (NDs) such as anxiety irritability. The aging worldwide population, coupled multiple stressors, can lead to significant public health concerns, including severe NDs.
Place Duration Study: Tests analyses were carried out within confines Laboratory Animal Physiology University Yaoundé I (Cameroon) for 3 months.
Study Design: To induce PM syndrome, an 84-day ovariectomized Wistar rat model used.
Methodology: Random sampling 4 groups 6 rats, each aged between 8 10 weeks, used. SIS IS induced during installation. Behavioral status, biochemical, histopathological out.
Results: combined exacerbates NDs by low estrogen levels. Furthermore, stressed rats are more depressed anxious than control. They presented hippocampal inflammation, oxidative stress, memory impairment owing levels ACh reduced expression hippocampus. Overall, status makes linked worse rats.
Conclusion: Stress promotes neuroinflammation, death, leading greater affective cognition when low. Thus, there need focus on management menopausal life.

متن کاملStem Cell Therapy in Pediatric Neurological Disorders
Pediatric neurological disorders including muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and spinal cord injury are defined as a heterogenous group of diseases, of which some are known to be genetic. The two significant features represented for stem cells, leading to distinguish them from other cell types are addressed as below: they can renew themselves besides the ability to differentiate into cells wi...
متن کاملAntioxidants, oxidative stress, and degenerative neurological disorders.
Recently, clinical trials of several neurodegenerative diseases have increasingly targeted the evaluation of the effectiveness of various antioxidants. The results so far are encouraging but variable and thus confusing. Rationale for the possible clinical effectiveness of antioxidants in several degenerative conditions has arisen out of the many years of basic science generally showing that rea...
متن کاملAutoimmune Channelopathies and Related Neurological Disorders
Ion channels are crucial elements in neuronal signaling and synaptic transmission, and defects in their function are known to underlie rare genetic disorders, including some forms of epilepsy. A second class of channelopathies, characterized by autoantibodies against ligand- and voltage-gated ion channels, cause a variety of defects in peripheral neuromuscular and ganglionic transmission. There...
متن کاملNiacin Exacerbates Methyl Prednisolone-Induced Bone Changes in Growing Rats
Positive role of niacin on serum lipid profile of rats treated with glucocorticoids (GCs) has been reported. This study aims to evaluate effect of niacin on bone changes in GC-induced dyslipidemic rats. A number of 28 growing rats divided into four groups and treated as control, Methyl prednisolone (MP) group (3.5 mg/kg five days a week, SC); MPN group (MP + niacin 200 mg/kg/day orally) and MPA...
