Suture Bridge Fixation Technique for Posterior Cruciate Ligament Avulsion Fracture
We presented a surgical technique including a suture bridge technique with relatively small incision for the reduction and fixation of posterior ligament avulsion fractures. A suture anchor was used to hold the avulsed fragment and a knotless anchor was used to continuously compress the bony fragment into the fracture site, thereby maintaining reduction during healing.

Pre-operative clinical examination revealed no neurovascular deficit, but was limited due to significant pain and patient reluctance to participate in range of motion. Radiographs showed an intraarticular fracture of the posterior aspect of the right tibial spine with the dominant fragment displaced approximately 1 cm posteriorly in the joint space. Computed Tomography (CT) verified a 1 cm frag...
متن کاملPosterior cruciate ligament mediated avulsion fracture of the lateral tibial condyle: a case report
Avulsion fractures of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) are uncommon. On the basis of the site of damage of the PCL, hyperflexion, pretibial trauma, and hyperextension are proposed as mechanisms of PCL injuries. On the other hand, avulsion fractures of the tibial condyle are also rare. We report a PCL-mediated avulsion fracture of the lateral tibial condyle along with the tibial insertion o...
متن کاملOccult posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fracture in a paediatric patient: easily missed diagnosis.
Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) avulsion fracture is uncommon in the paediatric population. Clinical examination in children can be difficult as they are often irritable and uncooperative. Moreover, subtle radiological signs on basic X-rays are also liable to be missed. Further imagings including computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are crucial to rule out this rare c...
