چکیده
Introduction: Posterior segment retained Intraocular foreign body (IOFB) management is challenging. Facility of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and availability well trained vitreo retina surgeons are the basic need to accomplish this work. Encircling band provide permanent 360° support close anterior retinal break prevent traction on retina. The objective study analyse clinical characteristics predictors final visual outcome survival globe in cases IOFB posterior eye segment.
Materials methods: A hospital based retrospective observational was conducted. All patients presented from January 2016 June 2019 were enrolled. Patients with acuity NPL excluded. Statistical analysis performed using a variety tests SPSS version 21.
Results: Forty eyes 40 included. mean age 27.08±10.68 years (range 5-66). 95% our male. Most them (52.5%) worked farm. 26(65%) had Zone I injury. median time spent before presentation 13.5 day. Retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, endophthalmitis present 15, 23 5 eyes, respectively, removal. LogMAR improved significantly 2.50±0.87 1.33± 1.01 (p=0.003). Poor presenting acuity, detachment large diameter found as predictor poor acuity.
Conclusion: Pars by surgeon can give encouraging results IOFB. RD removal outcome.

INTRODUCTION The most common cause for litigation against ophthalmologists in a trauma case is a missed intraocular foreign body (IOFB). IOFBs cause internal eye damage, but some will come to rest in the posterior segment of the eye. CASE REPORT We presented a 57-year-old male who was referred to the ophthalmologist due to decreased visual acuity in his left eye. Slit lamp examination of his ...

BACKGROUND The purpose of this single case report was to report the use of anterior segment optical coherence tomography for the diagnosis and management of a retained vegetal intraocular foreign body. RESULTS A 23-year-old otherwise healthy male presented with a progressive vision loss in the right eye (RE). He reported a mild ocular trauma with a tree leaf 1 year ago followed by recurrent e...

We report an unusual case of retained metallic intraocular foreign body (IOFB) presenting with acute retinal necrosis (ARN). A healthy young man presented with signs of ARN including hypopyon, dense vitritis, and peripheral retinal necrosis following alleged history of trauma with a high-velocity projectile. After initial management of ARN with systemic antivirals, a retained metallic IOFB was ...

BACKGROUND/AIM A lack of data exists concerning the development of late postoperative, non-proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR), rhegmatogenous retinal detachments (RRDs) after successful posterior segment intraocular foreign body (PSIOFB) removal. The authors present a series of PSIOFB cases over several years with posterior hyaloid separation resulting in RRD in two patients, 4 and 8 months ...
