چکیده

Objectives: Meniscal ramp lesions describe a specific injury to the meniscocapsular junction at posterior horn of medial meniscus. The are strongly associated with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries and may affect biomechanical stability knee if left untreated. Despite increasing rates ACL reconstructions performed in adolescents each year, prevalence risk factors for this patient population is poorly understood. purpose study was determine children adolescent patients undergoing primary reconstruction. Methods: All ≤19 who underwent reconstruction single institutional between 2019 2021 were included. surgeries by three fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons. Patients considered have lesion one identified arthroscopically time Basic demographic data, preoperative imaging, other arthroscopic findings reviewed. Results: 247 consecutive excluded they had prior injury, surgery, fibular hemimelia, or incomplete documentation. A total 230 met inclusion criteria. Average age 15.7 years (range 4.0-18.2 years). 12% patients. Posteromedial tibial bone bruise on MRI femoral chondromalacia presence lesion, Figure 1A (OR = 2.6, 95% CI [1.15, 5.93]). striation pattern highly 1B 424.3, [50.99, 3531.3]). Sensitivity specificity detecting 68% 76% 99.5% condyle striations, respectively. Conclusions: our cohort 12%, mirroring historical reports adult bruising chondromalacia, especially pattern, should increase suspicion

Meniscal Ramp Lesions

Meniscal ramp lesions are more frequently associated with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries than previously recognized. Some authors suggest that this entity results from disruption of the meniscotibial ligaments of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus, whereas others support the idea that it is created by a tear of the peripheral attachment of the posterior horn of the medial meni...

Meniscal tearing after ACL reconstruction.

The knees of 72 patients with unilateral anterior-cruciate- ligament (ACL) injury were analyzed before ACL reconstruction as well as by follow-up arthroscopy on the day of staple removal. At ACL reconstruction 31 lateral menisci and 40 medial menisci were found to be normal. 28 lateral menisci and 24 medial menisci were treated surgically, while 13 lateral menisci and 8 medial menisci with smal...

Inside-Out Repair of Meniscal Ramp Lesions

Meniscal ramp lesions have been reported to be present in 9% to 17% of patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Detection at the time of arthroscopy can be accomplished based upon clinical suspicion and careful evaluation without the use of an accessory posteromedial portal. Options for surgical treatment include arthroscopic repair using an all-inside or inside-out techni...

Background: Meniscus tear is a common finding in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and may affectthe natural history of the injury and the outcomes of treatment. In the current study, the characteristics of meniscus tearsin patients who underwent arthroscopic ACL reconstruction were investigated. Methods: The hospital records of 1022 patients were reviewed. ...
