Post-processing noise reduction via all-photon recording in dynamic light scattering

چکیده
Dynamic light scattering (DLS) is widely used for the characterization of size distributions polymers and nanoparticles in dispersions. The time correlation function scattered intensity can be calculated from fluctuation with converted into scatterers. It has been difficult to apply DLS a dispersion containing large pollutant particles, however, because pollutants moving give rise intense noise signals during data acquisition. In conventional DLS, this type renders entire measurement useless. Here we report novel software-based system which arrival times all photons are recorded using time-to-digital converter, exclusively uncontaminated parts post-processing. We demonstrate validity reduction scheme by evaluating silica nanoparticle small number micrometer-sized PMMA particles as model contaminant.

Entrapment–D-(+)-Glucose Water Nanodroplet: Synthesis and Dynamic Light Scattering
In the present research, the D-(+)-Glucose–confined water nanodroplets with mean size in the range of 6-11 nm were synthesized at D-(+)-Glucose different concentrations by AOT reverse micelles (RMs) method as a function of mass fraction of droplet (MFD) at the constant water-to-surfactant molar ratio ( W=40). The dynamic light scattering of the nano-sized water droplets containing the D-(+)-Glu...

We derive a simple expression for the photon helicity and polarisation-flip probabilities in arbitrary background fields, in the low energy regime. Taking the background to model a focused laser beam, we study the impact of pulse shape and collision geometry on the probabilities and on ellipticity signals of vacuum birefringence. We find that models which do not account for pulse duration can o...
متن کاملDynamic Light Scattering
A HeNe laser beam incident on a sample of micron-sized spheres suspended in water scatters into a random pattern of spots of varying size, shape, and intensity. The pattern results from the coherent superposition of the outgoing waves scattered from the spheres. Because the spheres are in constant Brownian motion, the pattern randomly changes in time. A photodetector is placed in the pattern an...
متن کاملDynamic light scattering
By scattering light from small particles, their geometrical structure and their state of motion can be measured. An experiment is described for measuring the diffusivity of small particles undergoing Brownian motion using the technique called photon correlation spectroscopy or dynamic light scattering. The necessary experimental apparatus and the related theory are discussed. Photon correlation...
