چکیده

Background: Frozen shoulder is prevalent among diabetic patients, and usually has aggressive course, with more tendency to be bilateral resistant treatment. Suprascapular nerve block (SSNB) used increasing frequency by anesthetists rheumatologists in the management of frozen shoulder. We previously introduced a protocol nine injections for SSNB better short term outcome than single injection (1). Long still not detected. Objectives: To evaluate long effect multiple (nine) ultrasound guided supra-scapular treatment Methods: A retrospective cohort study followed up 40 patients who received course (9 injections) on 2014. In this we retrospectively assessed from recorded data at mean duration 6 years after completing 9 clinically measuring active range motion (using goniometer three planes: abduction, internal, external rotation). Visual analogue scale Functional assessment pain disability index (SPADI). Results: Thirty four (85% original cohort) completed follow up. The were 19 (55.9%) females, 60.6 y age, disease was 85.6 months. majority (33 97.05%) continues improvement gained within normal complete motions all directions excellent grades function (Table 1). Suprascapular nerve block for the treatment of frozen shoulder

AIMS The aim of our study was to compare the effects of suprascapular nerve block in patients with frozen shoulder and diabetes mellitus unresponsive to intraarticular steroid injections. SETTINGS AND DESIGN Ten patients without improvement of sign and symptoms after intraarticular injections were made a suprascapular nerve block. METHODS Pain levels and active range of movement of patients...

Ultrasound-guided suprascapular nerve block technique.

BACKGROUND In this article, we describe a case report of using real-time, high-resolution ultrasound guidance to facilitate blockade of the suprascapular nerve. We describe a case report and technique for using a portable ultrasound scanner (38 mm broadband (13-6 MHz) linear array transducer (SonoSite Micromaxx SonoSite, Inc. 21919 30th Drive SE Bothwell W. A..)) to guide suprascapular nerve bl...

Ultrasound-guided suprascapular nerve block for orthopaedic patients with persistent shoulder pain and stiffness Authors:

Introduction: Suprascapular nerve blocks have been used successfully in rheumatology and pain clinics to control chronic shoulder pain. This study aims to assess the efficacy of ultrasound-guided suprascapular nerve blocks in a group of orthopaedic patients with persistent shoulder pain and stiffness. Materials and Methods: A prospective audit of twenty-two consecutive patients was performed. S...

Suprascapular nerve block for the treatment of frozen shoulder in primary care: a randomized trial.

BACKGROUND Frozen shoulder is a common problem in general practice, but its treatment is difficult since none of the currently used therapies are proven to be effective. AIM To assess the effectiveness of suprascapular nerve block to relieve pain and improve range of movement, and its suitability for use in primary care. This small study by a single practitioner aims to justify a larger multi...

Ultrasound-guided suprascapular nerve block for shoulder reduction and adhesive capsulitis in the ED.

The suprascapular nerve (SSN) emerges from the upper trunk of the brachial plexus (C5-C6) and provides the majority of the sensory innervation to the glenohumeral and acromioclavicular joints. In addition, it provides motor innervation to the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles [1]. Blockade of the SSN was first described in 1941 by Wertheim and Rovenstine [2] and, since then, has been used...
