POS-076 PARVOVIRUS B19 DISEASE POST-RENAL TRANSPLANT PRESENTING AS REFRACTORY ANEMIA - CASE SERIES OF 20 PATIENTS

چکیده
Transplant patients are susceptible to a wide range of infections, one which includes Parvovirus B19 (PVB19). In post-renal transplant patient, due failure mount neutralising antibody response the virus, PVB19 causes significant morbidity & also graft dysfunction. It is usually present in first year post-transplant period, associated with anemia and nonspecific signs symptoms.

Parvovirus B19 Infection and Severe Anemia in Renal Transplant Recipients
Kidney transplant (KT) recipients can develop symptomatic Parvovirus (PV) B19 infections, frequently associated with persistent anemia. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence and clinical significance of PV B19 infection in anemic and non-anemic KT patients. Overall, out of 64 patients monitored for the presence of PV B19 by real-time PCR, 2 (3.12%) had an active PV B19 infection,...
متن کاملParvovirus B19 infection in pediatric transplant patients.
Evidence of recent parvovirus virus infection (as determined by the presence of a positive IgM antibody titer) without other identified causes of anemia was found in 5 of 26 pediatric solid-organ transplant recipients evaluated for moderate-to-severe anemia between June 1990 and July 1991. Anemia tended to be chronic (median duration of anemia at the time of diagnosis was 12 weeks) and was asso...
متن کاملParvovirus B19 infections in patients with chronic anemia.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Parvovirus B19 has a marked tropism for erythroid progenitor cells and this may lead to chronic anemia in predisposed individuals. It was the purpose of the present study to investigate prospectively the frequency of parvovirus B19 infections in patients with a diagnosis of chronic anemia. METHODS AND RESULTS Evidence of parvovirus B19 infection was found in 13/43 (30...
متن کاملRaynaud's phenomenon as a manifestation of parvovirus B19 infection: case reports and review of parvovirus B19 rheumatic and vasculitic syndromes.
Infection with human parvovirus B19 is manifested as erythema infectiosum, transient aplastic crisis, or hydrops fetalis. Rheumatic manifestations include arthropathy and various vasculitic syndromes. Isolated Raynaud's phenomenon due to parvovirus B19 has never been described. We report on 2 previously healthy sisters with new-onset Raynaud's phenomenon accompanied by severe generalized polyar...
