چکیده
Tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis (TINU) syndrome is considered an autoimmune-mediated multisystemic disease. Its underlying mechanisms are not yet clear. Most patients with TINU adolescent girls (median age, 15 years). The diagnostic criteria for the presence of acute interstitial (diagnosed by renal histopathology analysis) typical uveitis. prognosis most seems to be self-limited. However, some develop refractory disease after initial steroid treatments. Here, we describe girl that was successfully treated mycophenolate mofetil (MMF). Syndrome of tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis.
We report a case of acute tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis syndrome (TINU syndrome) in an elderly Indian woman. TINU is one of the rare causes of acute tubulo interstitial nephritis and is likely to be missed as there is often temporal gap between the appearance of the renal and ocular manifestations.
متن کاملTreatment of lupus nephritis by mycophenolate mofetil.
BACKGROUND/AIMS Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) has been increasingly used for the treatment of lupus nephritis (LN). The aim of this study was to examine the efficacy and safety of MMF used with low doses of corticosteroids as maintenance therapy in patients with LN. METHODS The study covered 35 patients, most of them with proliferative types of LN (5 WHO class III, 26 class IV), while 1 had cla...
متن کاملSuccessful Treatment of Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis Associated with Lupus Nephritis by Using Mycophenolate Mofetil
An estimated 0.9% to 2.4% of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) also have hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). HLH associated with autoimmune diseases is often refractory to corticosteroid treatment; thus, additional immunosuppressive drugs, such as cyclosporine, cyclophosphamide, or tacrolimus, are required. Here, we describe the case of a 44-year-old Japanese woman who deve...
متن کاملSuccessful treatment of lipedematous alopecia using mycophenolate mofetil.
Lipedematous alopecia (LA) is a rare form of non-scarring alopecia described by Coskey in 1961. To date, 78 cases have been reported in the literature (1). LA generally starts from the vertex, with a centrifuge extension that may affect the whole scalp. Patients may present pain or pruritus along the affected area. Palpation reveals a smooth, diffuse and cotton-wool-like induration (1, 2). Curr...

Pyoderma gangrenosum is a rare non infectious neutrophilic dermatosis commonly associated with underlying systemic disease. Many treatment regimens have been reported. Herein, we report a case of refractory pyoderma gangrenosum with good response to combination of cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil.
