چکیده

Abstract Synthesis of proton-conducting materials based on track-etched membranes from polyvinylidene fluoride and sulfonated cross-linked polystyrene is described. The synthesis has been carried out by filling the pores original or gamma-irradiated membrane copolymerization styrene/divinylbenzene followed sulfonation with chlorosulfonic acid. resulting have studied scanning electron microscopy ATR IR spectroscopy. Membrane ionic conductivity, hydrogen gas permeability, ion-exchange capacity, water absorption were measured. conductivity at 30°C reaches 51.7 mS/cm, which almost three times higher than for Nafion®212 membranes; however, permeability obtained also increases simultaneously.

Preparation of anisotropically proton-conductive materials based on poly(vinylidene fluoride) ion track membranes

Proton exchange membranes (PEMs) for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) have recently been developed by our original techniques of the γ-ray or electron-beam crosslinking and graft polymerization. Our additional main focus is the use of cylindrical damage in polymers produced by bombardment of high-energy ions, that is called a latent track. We are taking the approach using this ion track t...

Cyclic-voltammetry study of bismuth telluride electrodeposition in polycarbonate etched ion-track membranes

Bismuth telluride compounds are well-known to be among the most efficient thermoelectric materials at room temperature. Currently, some efforts are made to synthesize nanowires, since theoretical predictions have shown that their transport properties can be favourably modified compared with bulk materials. The feasibility of the electrochemical synthesis of bismuth telluride nanowires in porous...

ATP-Controlled Molecular Transport through Cylindrical Nanochannels Fabricated in Ion Track Etched Polymer Membranes

Nanoscale devices based on solid-state nanochannels have attracted enormous interest owing to the emergence of novel ion transport properties that mimic their biological counterparts. Compared to the fragile and sensitive biological systems, synthetic nanochannels fabricated in solid-state materials have proven a good alternative because of their (a) stability under harsh conditions, (b) easy t...

Low-voltage electroosmotic pumps fabricated from track-etched polymer membranes.

Track-etched polymer membranes are used to realize low-voltage electroosmotic (EO) pumps. The nanopores in polycarbonate (PC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) membranes were fabricated by the track-etching technique, the pore diameter was controlled in the range of 100 to 250 nm by adjusting the etching time. The results show that these EO pumps can provide high flow rates at low applied vo...

NMR Analysis of Sulfonated Polystyrene

Atactic polystyrene (PS) has an amorphous structure. Compounds such as H2SO4 and SO3 are commonly used as sulfonating agents for various polymers, including PS. The main purpose of this work is to study chemical structural changes in PS arising from sulfonation through DSC analysis and NMR spectroscopy. An increase in the glass transition temperature (Tg) of sulfonated polystyrene and a decreas...
