Polymeric iodophors with poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) and poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone): optical, hydrodynamic, thermodynamic, and antimicrobial properties

چکیده
• Complex formation of poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) and poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) with molecular iodine has been studied in aqueous solutions. Poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) exhibits greater ability to bind compared Iodophors based on exhibited similar antimicrobial properties. Formation iodophors by interactions dissolved solutions addition potassium iodide ethanol using a range physicochemical techniques including UV–Vis spectroscopy, viscometry, dynamic light scattering, isothermal titration calorimetry partitioning through semi-permeable membrane. In the title compound, [Cd(C(9)H(10)NS(2))(2)(C(5)H(9)NO)], the Cd(II) atom is five-coordinated in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry by four S atoms from two chelating N-ethyl-N-phenyl dithio-carbamate ligands and one N atom from a 2-ethyl-2-oxazoline ligand.
