چکیده

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease associated with inflammation. Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharide (PSP) major group of active components isolated from broad activities including anti-inflammatory effect. However, the role PSP in OA unclear. In present study, we aimed to investigate effects on IL-1β-induced inflammatory response primary human chondrocytes. The results showed that improved cell viability chondrocytes IL-1β induction. increased levels several mediators nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), inducible synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) were attenuated by dose-dependent manner. production pro-inflammatory cytokines, TNF-α IL-6, mitigated Besides, also suppressed matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), MMP-1, MMP-3 MMP-13 IL-1β-stimulated Furthermore, activation NF-κB signaling pathway was prevented PSP. These findings suggested alleviated via inhibiting pathway.

Saikosaponin A inhibits IL-1β-induced inflammatory mediators in human osteoarthritis chondrocytes by activating LXRα

Saikosaponin a (SSa), one of the main active components of Bupleurum falcatum, has been reported to have anti-inflammatory effect. In the present study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effect of SSa on IL-1β-stimulated human osteoarthritis chondrocytes. The cells were pretreated with SSa 12 h before IL-1β treatment. The production of PGE2 and NO were detected by ELISA and Griess method. T...

Low-dose γ-radiation inhibits IL-1β-induced dedifferentiation and inflammation of articular chondrocytes via blockage of catenin signaling

Although low-dose radiation (LDR) regulates a wide range of biological processes, limited information is available on the effects of LDR on the chondrocyte phenotype. Here, we found that LDR, at doses of 0.5-2 centiGray (cGy), inhibited interleukin (IL)-1β-induced chondrocyte destruction without causing side effects, such as cell death and senescence. IL-1β treatment induced an increase in the ...

Effects of baicalein on IL-1β-induced inflammation and apoptosis in rat articular chondrocytes

In osteoarthritis (OA), activated synoviocytes and articular chondrocytes produce pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, that promote chondrocyte apoptosis and activate the NF-κB signaling pathway to induce catabolic factors. In this study, we examined the anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effect of baicalein on IL-1β signaling and NF-κB-regulated gene products in rat chondrocytes. Rat c...

Sesamin inhibits IL-1β-stimulated inflammatory response in human osteoarthritis chondrocytes by activating Nrf2 signaling pathway

Sesamin, a bioactive component extracted from sesame, has been reported to exert anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects. In this study, we evaluated the anti-inflammatory effects of sesamin on IL-1β-stimulated human osteoarthritis chondrocytes and investigated the possible mechanism. Results demonstrated that sesamin treatment significantly inhibited PGE2 and NO production induced by IL-1β....

Effects of Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharide on the osteogenic differentiation of bone mesenchymal stem cells in mice.

Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharide (PSP) is a traditional Chinese medicine and is widely used to treat many diseases for hundreds of years conventionally. This study was to access the effects of PSP on the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in the mice. Cells collected from BALB/C mice in the bone marrow were isolated and cultured with osteogenic medium (...
