Polyantimonic acid-based materials evaluated as moisture sensors at ambient temperature

Abstract Humidity sensors are in high demand for many applications, such as environmental monitoring and air food quality control. Despite inorganic organic materials exhibit moisture sensing properties, the electrical response of existing is not stable along time. Polyantimonic acid (PAA) characterized by elevated proton conductivity thermal stability: consequently, it seen promising conductor usage humidity devices. In this work, first time, PAA-based bulk solid membranes were produced tested potential relative (RH) detection their sensitivity was evaluated. Two different amounts binder used moulding sensors: ones with 10% designated 90PAA, while 20% named 80PAA. The structures samples investigated X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, adsorption–desorption curves via Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) techniques. behaviour examined at ambient temperature impedance entire interval (0–100%) frequency range 40 Hz up to 60 MHz.
