Pollen analysis of honeys from Yığılca region (Düzce), Turkey

The aim of this study is to determine the plant species preferred by Apis mellifera L., which a valuable genotype in terms vitality and high honey production. For purpose, seven samples from Yığılca region Düzce (Turkey) were examined for pollen analysis. As result analysis on these samples, it was determined that local honeybee use grains 43 different taxa 26 families. Six unifloral (> 45% one taxon sample) with four being Rhododendron ponticum two Castanea sativa. One sample classified as multifloral percentages secondary rare groups. honeys had contained 14 30 types pollen. average number per 21. dominant groups 4 sativa 2 samples. Secondary components 3 taxa: Fagus orientalis, Quercus sp. Four occurred ‘minor’ 37 quantities. Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Fagaceae, Lamiaceae Rosaceae most represented families
