Policy and Legal Implications for Working with Unaccompanied Immigrant Children in Foster Care in the United States

Unaccompanied immigrant children arrive in the US having fled deteriorating conditions and human rights violations their home countries. Despite large numbers of unaccompanied children, there is a lack research on outcomes for particularly those Office Refugee Resettlement’s (ORR) Long Term Foster Care (LTFC) program. This manuscript begins with review existing laws that influence (UC) served through ORR’s LTFC program current UC foster care US. Notably, this also visualizes have arrived since early 2000s. These are used to provide synthesis recommendations policy practice children.
