چکیده
Mapping arrhythmias and concretely atrial fibrillation (AF) is complicated by our inability to determine local from far field electrograms, as interfere with the identification of activity in specific electrode location. In particular, how “local” on any catheter not yet biophysically defined. We tested hypothesis that EGM conformation configurations can be explained modelling biophysical relation between size separation active myocardial tissue. modelled laminar conduction tissue 30x30x3 mm a 1 electrode, discretized into 100.000 100 nodes respectively (fig. Simultaneous Epicardial and Noncontact Endocardial Mapping of the Canine Right Atrium: Simulation and Experiment
Epicardial high-density electrical mapping is a well-established experimental instrument to monitor in vivo the activity of the atria in response to modulations of the autonomic nervous system in sinus rhythm. In regions that are not accessible by epicardial mapping, noncontact endocardial mapping performed through a balloon catheter may provide a more comprehensive description of atrial activi...
متن کاملCharacterization of contact force during endocardial and epicardial ventricular mapping.
BACKGROUND The optimal contact force (CF) for ventricular mapping and ablation remains unvalidated. We assessed CF in different endocardial and epicardial regions during ventricular tachycardia substrate mapping using a CF-sensing catheter (Smartouch; Biosense-Webster) and compared the transseptal versus retroaortic approach. METHODS AND RESULTS In total, 8979 mapping points with CF, and forc...
متن کاملNoninvasive epicardial and endocardial mapping of premature ventricular contractions
Aims The aim of the present study was to estimate the accuracy of a novel non-invasive epicardial and endocardial electrophysiology system (NEEES) for mapping ectopic ventricular depolarizations. Methods and results The study enrolled 20 patients with monomorphic premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) or ventricular tachycardia (VT). All patients underwent pre-procedural computed tomograph...
متن کاملQuantification of the transmural dynamics of atrial fibrillation by simultaneous endocardial and epicardial optical mapping in an acute sheep model.
BACKGROUND Therapy strategies for atrial fibrillation based on electric characterization are becoming viable personalized medicine approaches to treat a notoriously difficult disease. In light of these approaches that rely on high-density surface mapping, this study aims to evaluate the presence of 3-dimensional electric substrate variations within the transmural wall during acute episodes of a...
متن کاملSites of focal atrial activity characterized by endocardial mapping during atrial fibrillation.
OBJECTIVES The aim of the present study was to assess the feasibility of identifying sites of focal atrial activity by localized high-density endocardial mapping during atrial fibrillation (AF). BACKGROUND Sites of focal activity in the left atrium have been demonstrated by epicardial mapping during AF. METHODS Twenty-four patients (15 with paroxysmal, 3 with persistent, and 6 with permanen...
