Disseminated cryptococcosis with caverno-oesophageal fistula in a case of idiopathic CD4+ T-lymphocytopenia.
Idiopathic CD4+ T-Lymphocytopenia is a rare immunodeficiency disorder characterised by significantly low absolute CD4 lymphocytes in absence of any viral infections. We present a case of Disseminated Cryptococcosis with Caverno- Oesophageal Fistula in a case of Idiopathic CD4+ T-Lymphocytopenia. 29 year old lady was referred to Institute in view of lung mass not responding to anti-TB treatment....
متن کاملA Case of Pulmonary Cryptococcosis with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer in Idiopathic CD4+ T-Lymphocytopenia
Cryptococcus neoformans commonly causes opportunistic infections in immunocompromised patients, especially in patients with AIDS. CD4+ T-lymphocytopenia in AIDS indicates an increased risk of opportunistic infection and a decline in immunological function. Idiopathic CD4 T-lymphocytopenia (ICL) is characterized by depletions in the CD4+ T-cell subsets, without evidence of HIV infection. Immunod...

The devastating global impact of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) has greatly sensitized the public to the threat of new microbes that are capable of wrecking havoc on the world's population. The HIV virus infects and depletes CD4+ T lymphocytes. However cases have been described with profound CD4+ T cell lymphocytopenia but without evidence of HIV infection, a condition now termed as ...

We conducted a French multicenter study to analyze the clinical and immunologic characteristics of a cohort of patients with ICL according to the Centers for Disease Control criteria. We recruited 40 patients (24 female) of mean age 44.2 T 12.2 (19Y70) years. Patients underwent T-lymphocyte phenot...
