چکیده
The BICEP/Keck series of experiments target the Cosmic Microwave Background at degree-scale resolution from South Pole. Over next few years, "Stage-3" BICEP Array (BA) telescope will improve program's frequency coverage and sensitivity to primordial B-mode polarization by an order magnitude. first receiver in array, BA1, began observing 30/40 GHz early 2020. two receivers, BA2 BA3, are currently being assembled map southern sky frequencies ranging 95 150 GHz. Common all BA receivers is a refractive, on-axis, cryogenic optical design that focuses microwave radiation onto focal plane populated with antenna-coupled bolometers. High-performance antireflective coatings up 760 mm aperture needed for each element chain, must withstand repeated thermal cycles down 4 K. Here we present fabrication anti-reflection recently deployed BA1 receiver, then discuss laboratory measurements their reflectance. We review lamination method these single- dual-layer plastic indices matched various polyethylene, nylon alumina optics. also describe ongoing efforts optimize cryostats, which may inform technological choices future Small-Aperture Telescopes CMB "Stage 4" experiment.

Symmetrical periods in antireflective coatings for plastic optics.
Plastic optical parts require antireflective as well as hard coatings. A novel design concept for coating plastics combines both functions. Symmetrical three-layer periods with a phase thickness of 3/2pi are arranged in a multilayer to achieve a step-down refractive-index profile. It is shown mathematically that the equivalent index of symmetrical periods can be lower than the lowest refractive...

متن کاملSelf-cleaning antireflective optical coatings.
Low-cost antireflection coatings (ARCs) on large optical surfaces are an ingredient-technology for high-performance solar cells. While nanoporous thin films that meet the zero-reflectance conditions on transparent substrates can be cheaply manufactured, their suitability for outdoor applications is limited by the lack of robustness and cleanability. Here, we present a simple method for the manu...
متن کاملOptimized 2D array of thin silicon pillars for efficient antireflective coatings in the visible spectrum
Light reflection occuring at the surface of silicon wafers is drastically diminished by etching square pillars of height 110 nm and width 140 nm separated by a 100 nm gap distance in a square lattice. The design of the nanostructure is optimized to widen the spectral tolerance of the antireflective coatings over the visible spectrum for both fundamental polarizations. Angle and polarized resolv...

This paper shows injection molded millimeter-wave horn array antenna for the 1-dimensional APAA(Active Phase Array Antenna). The antenna is composed of horn antennas, grooved circular waveguide polarizers, E-plane T-junctions, and E-plane bends employing dielectric waveguides. This structure makes it possible to manufacture a feed circuit and radiating elements as an integrated unit by using in...
