چکیده

Abstract. Mapping the distribution of plastic covered greenhouses (PCG) is essential for any attempts to manage these complex areas intensive agriculture. It therefore important understand how spectrum different PCG varies in order establish its unique absorption features and can be utilised mapping from remote sensing imagery. This paper presents an analysis surface reflectance values satellite image spectra 50 PCG. The PCG, located Almería (Spain), was studied two seasons year (summer winter). All single bands WorldView-3 (WV3), Sentinel-2 MSI (S2 L2A) Landsat 8 OLI (L8 L2), together with Normalized Difference Plastic Index (NDPI) Vegetation (NDVI), were generated through object-based (OBIA) approach each season. results showed variability overall shape all main differences attributed crops specific characteristics their local management. A relationship between brightness whitewashing (greenhouse roof painted lime provide shade reduce temperature inside greenhouse, especially summer) found, showing ability temporally mask spectral signature film.

Aerosol Optical Depth Retrievals from High-resolution Commericial Satellite Imagery over Areas of High Surface Reflectance

Atmospheric aerosol particles impact the Earth’s energy budget through reflection and absorption of solar radiation (the aerosol direct effect) and modification of cloud properties (the aerosol indirect effect). The scattering of incoming solar radiation back to space results in a net decrease in heating at the Earth’s surface. The absorption of solar energy alters the atmospheric heating rate,...

DIFFUSE REFLECTANCE MEASUREMENTS FROM DIFFERENT SURFACES

Relative diffuse reflection measurements from the original and ground surfaces using a He-Ne laser are reported. The intensity measurements for the metallic, transparent dielectric, matte plastic surfaces and colored papers are presented. Our results indicate that among metallic surfaces tested, aluminum has the highest diffuse reflectance; while the original stainless steel surface shows the l...

Mapping dominant annual land cover from 2009 to 2013 across Victoria, Australia using satellite imagery

There is a demand for regularly updated, broad-scale, accurate land cover information in Victoria from multiple stakeholders. This paper documents the methods used to generate an annual dominant land cover (DLC) map for Victoria, Australia from 2009 to 2013. Vegetation phenology parameters derived from an annual time series of the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer Vegetation Indices...
