Plasma treatment for enhanced functionalization of graphene nanosheets by octadecylamine

We report here a method for enhancing the non-oxygen functionalization of graphene nanosheets. This improvement is taken place by increasing oxygen functional groups as active reaction sites on oxide cold plasma treatment followed substitution octadecylamine (ODA). The FTIR, XPS, XRD, RAMAN, and TGA analyses verified that modification could increase amount 61%. plasma-treated functionalized nanosheets were incorporated in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membranes to remove toluene from water pervaporation showed an enhanced enrichment factor separation index 123% 68%, respectively, compared those membrane with normally-functionalized reduced performance enhancement attributed higher degree nanosheets, which causes more uniform distribution acting barrier against permeation while facilitating molecules through membrane. Hence, this be used functionality graphenic materials applicability these nanoparticles.
