Plasma assisted CO2 dissociation in pure and gas mixture streams with a ferroelectric packed-bed reactor in ambient conditions

چکیده

Carbon dioxide decomposition is a challenging target to combat climate change. Nonthermal plasmas are advantageous for this purpose because they operate at ambient conditions and can be easily scaled-up. In study, we attempt the CO2 splitting into CO O2 in parallel plate packed-bed plasma reactor moderated with Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) as ferroelectric component, achieving conversion rates energy efficiencies higher than those obtained BaTiO3 our experimental device. The analysis of reaction mechanisms optical emission spectroscopy under various operating has shown direct correlation between efficiency intensity CO* bands. These results LiNbO3 placed onto active electrode suggest that high temperature electrons contribute through an enhancement formation CO2+ intermediate species. Results + mixtures confirm view back recombination processes involving may reduce overall efficiency. study dry air proved capacity reactors efficiently decompose no harmful NXOY subproducts close real facilities. found respect pure gas supports new pathways nitrogen molecules contributing dissociation reaction. We conclude PZT optimum alternative decompositon flows conditions.

Oxidation of Ethene in a Wall-cooled Packed- Bed Reactor

Abstract--The selective oxidation of ethene over a silver on cx-alumina catalyst was studied in a pilot plant with a wall-cooled tubular packed bed reactor. Gas and solid temperatures in the catalyst bed were measured at different axial and radial positions as well as concentrations at different axial position. Total pressure, inlet mole fraction ethene, mass flow rate and wall temperature were...

Effect of Pulsing on Reaction Outcome in a Gas-Liquid Catalytic Packed-Bed Reactor

There has been continuous interest and fascination with the fluid dynamics of trickle-beds (i.e., cocurrent gas-liquid packed-bed reactors) at least since Weekman and Myers (1964) first proposed a regime map for their operation. Consistent with other flow regime maps before (Baker, 1954; for gas-liquid pipe flow) and since (e.g., Mandhane et al., 1974; for pipe flow), visual observations were u...

Optimal synthesis of rotating packed bed reactor

Rotating packed bed (RPB), a novel apparatus involving process intensification (PI), has been successfully used in the chemical industry in recent decades. In this paper, we establish a connection between process integration and process intensification for which we propose a superstructure involving a RPB and a packed bed (PB) in order to determine the optimal integrated design. We describe mod...

Investigating the Batch and Continuous Transesterification of Linseed Oil by Using a Alkaline Heterogeneous Catalyst in a Packed Bed Reactor

Both the continuous and batch transesterification of linseed oil were examined in order to maximize the fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) yield. The continuous process was conducted in a packed bed reactor using calcium oxide as a heterogeneous catalyst. In addition, the impact of two variables, namely the molar ratio of methanol to oil and the flow rate (ml/min), on the FAME yield were stu...
