چکیده

Omega-3 fatty acids containing microalgae are considered a promising feedstock for food and nutraceutical applications. To meet the commercial nutritional demands of essential omega-3 acids, different strategies being implemented, including supplementation plant growth regulators (PGRs). In present study effects selected, PGRs, i.e., gibberellic acid (GA), salicylic (SA), malic (MA; TCA cycle intermediate), were studied on growth, lipid, synthesis Nannochloropsis oceanica CASA CC201. Significant increase in (10 ppm GA), 1.9-fold lipid production (40 MA), 4-fold EPA by treatment with 10 MA found. understand mechanism behind significant changes metabolite production, we had analyzed generation oxidative stress, targeted metabolite, amino profile N. under PGR treatment. elucidate physiological role key metabolic pathways contribution to synthesis, metabolites selected from glycolysis, citric cycle, pentose phosphate pathway. Metabolomics analysis revealed that there is ATP, NADPH, NADP, NADH at cultures treated high concentrations PGRs elevation these associated increased production.

Growth and lipid accumulation in response to different cultivation temperatures in Nannochloropsis oculata for biodiesel production

Background: Microalgal lipid is a promising feedstock for biodiesel production. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of cultivation temperature on the growth and lipid accumulation properties of Nannochloropsis oculata microalgae. Methods: Nannochloropsis oculatacan grow in a wide range of temperatures (5 ~ 35°C). Late in the stationary growth phase of microalgae, bi...

Growth and lipid accumulation by different nutrients in the microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

Background Individual nutrient depletion is widely used to induce lipid accumulation in microalgae, which also causes cell growth inhibition and decreases the total biomass. Thus, improving the lipid accumulation without biomass loss in the nutrient deficiency cells becomes a potential cost-effective treatment for cheaper biofuels. Methods In this study, the effects of different nutritional c...

Growth and lipid accumulation properties of a freshwater microalga Scenedesmus sp. under different cultivation temperature.

Microalgal lipid is a promising feedstock for biodiesel production. Effect of cultivation temperature on the growth and lipid accumulation properties of a freshwater microalga Scenedesmus sp. LX1 was studied. Scenedesmus sp. LX1 could grow in a wide range of temperature (10∼30°C), and the growth activation energy was 49.3 kJ·mol(-1). The optimal temperature to produce microalgal biomass and lip...

Growth rate assessment of high lipid producing microalga Botryococcus braunii in different culture media

The green colonial microalga, Botryococcus braunii is well known for its high lipid content and has already been proposed as a renewable energy source for various aquaculture and biotechnological applications. However, due to its slow growth rate compared with other microalgae, B. braunii has not yet been used in mass culture to produce more biomass. Therefore, in this study we tested different...
